Okay, so it wasn’t the same as a 14 strikeout debut. It was however, another good outing, and a win for a bad team (Washington Nationals) against the Indians who were riding a four game win streak.  Strasburg went 5 1/3 innings, had 8 strikeouts, 5 walks, and gave up a homer to Travis Hafner. Well, the NCAA handed down it’s punishment to the University of Southern California and to say it was harsh is an understatement.

The NCAA has in it’s own words, confirmed allegations that former USC running back and Heisman Trophy recipient Reggie Bush received illegal benefits while in the USC athletic program. (more…)

As previously discussed,  the college football conference shift has begun. The first two pieces of the puzzle have been made official and so far, I am two for two.

On Thursday the University of Colorado made their plans to join the Pac 10 conference official, today the University of Nebraska did the same announcing their commitment to the Big 10 conference.

Interestingly enough, another school, made a jump, in what I assume is a guess at what may be the sixth BCS conference if the current format remains in place. (more…)
