I usually find myself rooting for the underdog if I don’t have a horse in the race. In this year’s college football season, there is an outside chance that the greatest underdog of the BCS era may actually get their shot. Strangely, however, I don’t know if I want to see it. (more…)
During yesterday’s practice, Percy Harvin began his drills for the day fielding punts with the special teams unit. Not ten minutes into the session, he collapsed and began to tremble. It was serious enough for practice to halt and an ambulance to be dispatched. He was taken to the hospital, where he is now resting. (more…)
I’ve seen a lot of articles out on the web about the dispute between the NFL owners (NFL) and the NFL players union (NFLPA) regarding negotiation of the new collective bargaining agreement (CBA). The overwhelming theme with them all, they’re too complicated. The Detroit Lions although I don’t know why anymore, are my favorite NFL team and I love them with the same odd curiosity the Chicago Cubs fans love their team. The days of tyrannical team president Matt Millen are behind us. We can finally pull ourselves from the bottom of the standings and leave the pedestal of overwhelmingly biggest punching bag.
